Frequently asked questions

Is my information sent to a server?

No. The contract is built entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type about the employer, employee or salary is uploaded, logged or stored anywhere.

Is this employment contract legal advice?

No. This is a general template, not legal advice. Employment law varies a lot by country, state and role, so review the output and have a qualified employment lawyer check it before anyone signs.

What is the difference between full-time, part-time and contract?

Full-time and part-time are ongoing roles that differ mainly in weekly hours, while a contract role is fixed-term work for a defined period or project. The generator adjusts the position clause wording for each so the engagement basis is clear.

Do I have to include a probation period?

No. Leave the probation field blank or set it to zero and the probationary period clause is left out entirely, and the remaining clauses renumber so the contract stays clean.

Can I edit the contract after generating it?

Yes. Download the .txt file or copy the text into your word processor, then adjust clauses, add company-specific policies and format it to match your letterhead before signing.

What does the notice period control?

It sets how many days of written notice either side must give to end the agreement, which appears in the termination clause. Set it to zero for immediate-termination wording, subject to the minimum notice your local law requires.
