Frequently asked questions

Is this a substitute for legal advice?

No. This generator produces a general-purpose starting template, not legal advice. Laws vary by country, state, and industry, so you should review the result and have a qualified lawyer adapt it before you publish it.

Is my information sent to a server?

No. The document is assembled entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type, including your company name, email, or website, is uploaded or stored anywhere.

What is the difference between terms and conditions and a privacy policy?

Terms and conditions set the rules for using your site or app, like eligibility, acceptable use, payments, and liability. A privacy policy explains what personal data you collect and how you handle it. Most sites need both.

Why do the User Accounts and Purchases sections sometimes disappear?

Those two sections are optional. They are added only when you toggle on user accounts or product sales, so your document covers what your site actually does. The remaining sections renumber automatically with no gaps.

What minimum age should I use?

It depends on your audience and the laws that apply to you. Many general sites use 13 or higher because of children's privacy rules, while sites with payments or age-restricted content often require 18. Choose the age that matches your service and check local requirements.

Can I edit the generated terms afterward?

Yes. The output is plain text you can paste into any editor or CMS. Treat it as a draft: add clauses specific to your business, fill in any details, and have it reviewed before going live.
