Frequently asked questions

Is this privacy policy legally binding or legal advice?

No. This generator produces a plain-language template to help you get started. It is not legal advice. Laws differ by country, state and industry, so you should review the result and, where it matters, have a qualified lawyer check it before you publish.

Does it cover GDPR and CCPA?

Yes. Choose GDPR for EU and UK rights, CCPA for California rights, or both to include each section. There is also a general option that drops the formal rights section if neither framework applies to you.

Is my information sent to a server?

No. The policy is assembled entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type, including your company name or email, is uploaded, logged or stored by us.

Why do some sections appear or disappear?

The document is built from your answers. Sections for cookies, analytics, third-party sharing and data collection only appear when you toggle them on, so you do not make claims that do not apply to your site.

Where do I put the finished policy?

Most sites link a privacy policy from the footer and from any signup or checkout form. Paste the text into a dedicated page, or download the .txt file and format it to match your site.

Can I edit the wording after generating it?

Absolutely. The output is plain text you fully control. Add product-specific details, name the analytics or payment providers you use, and adjust anything to match how your business actually handles data.
