Frequently asked questions

What fees does Etsy charge sellers?

Three main ones: a fixed listing fee per item (0.20 by default), a transaction fee that is a percentage of the order total, and payment processing that is a percentage plus a small fixed amount per order. This tool adds all three together.

Does the transaction fee apply to shipping?

Yes. Etsy charges the transaction fee on the item price plus the shipping you charge the buyer. That is why the calculator includes shipping in the fee base, not just the item price.

How is my profit calculated?

Profit is your net proceeds (price plus shipping minus all fees) minus the product cost you enter. Leave the cost blank to see net proceeds only, before the cost of goods.

What about Etsy Offsite Ads fees?

Offsite Ads fees apply only when a buyer reaches your shop through an Etsy-placed ad, and the rate depends on your sales volume. They are not part of every order, so they are not included here. Treat the result as your fee floor.

Are these the exact fees Etsy will charge?

The defaults reflect Etsy's standard rates, but transaction and processing rates vary by country and can change over time. Edit the fee settings to match your shop, and check your Etsy payment account for the final figures.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored.
