Frequently asked questions

How does the eBay final value fee work?

eBay charges a final value fee as a percentage of the total sale plus a fixed amount per order. The default here is 13.25 percent plus 0.30, which the calculator applies to your price and shipping.

Does the final value fee apply to shipping?

Yes. eBay calculates the fee on the total amount of the sale, which includes the shipping you charge the buyer, not just the item price. The calculator adds shipping to the fee base for you.

Why do fee percentages differ between categories?

eBay sets different final value fee rates by category, and rates can change over time. The fee percent and fixed fee are editable so you can match your exact category and any store discount.

How is profit and margin calculated?

Profit is your net proceeds (price plus shipping minus the fee) minus your product cost. Margin is that profit shown as a percentage of the item price, so you can compare listings quickly.

Does this include payment processing or promoted listing fees?

No. The default uses eBay's standard final value fee structure. Promoted listing ad rates, international fees and other charges vary, so add them to your cost if they apply to your sale.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored, so you can model prices and costs privately.
