Delete Pages from a PDF

Drop in a PDF, click the page thumbnails you want gone, and download a fresh file with the rest kept in their original order. When a document cannot be previewed, a text box lets you type the pages to delete as numbers and ranges like 2, 4-6. Everything happens in your browser with pdf-lib, so the file never leaves your device.

How to delete pages from a PDF

  1. Drop a PDF onto the drop zone, or click it to browse for a file.
  2. Wait for the page thumbnails to render in the grid.
  3. Click any page you want to remove, or use Select all and Clear to work faster.
  4. Watch the count that shows how many pages are selected and how many will remain.
  5. If previews cannot render, type the pages to delete in the fallback box, for example 2, 4-6.
  6. Click Delete and download to save the trimmed PDF with an -edited suffix.

Pages 4, 5 and 6 removed, the invalid 99 ignored, 7 pages left

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. Page removal runs entirely in your browser with pdf-lib, and the thumbnails are rendered locally too. The PDF never leaves your device, so confidential documents stay private.

How do I choose which pages to delete?

The simplest way is to click the page thumbnails you want to drop. If previews are unavailable, type page numbers and ranges separated by commas, such as 2, 4-6, where pages are counted from 1.

How are page ranges interpreted?

Ranges are inclusive, so 4-6 covers pages 4, 5 and 6. A reversed range like 6-4 is normalized to the same pages, and numbers outside the document, such as 99 in a 10-page file, are ignored.

Can I delete every page?

No. A PDF must keep at least one page, so if your selection would remove them all the tool shows a warning and the Delete and download button stays disabled until one page would remain.

Does deleting pages reduce quality or change content?

No. The kept pages are copied as-is into a new PDF, so their text, images and vector graphics are untouched and there is no re-compression or quality loss.

What does the downloaded file get named?

The tool inserts an -edited suffix before the extension, so report.pdf downloads as report-edited.pdf. Your original file on disk is never modified.

What if my PDF is password protected?

If the PDF opens without a password in your normal viewer, it will work here. Documents that demand a password to open cannot be read, and the tool reports that it could not load the file.

Why did the page previews fail to render?

Some PDFs, especially very large or unusually encoded ones, will not rasterize into thumbnails. When that happens the tool falls back to the text box so you can still delete pages by number.

Can I keep only a few pages instead of deleting many?

This tool is built to remove pages, so you delete the ones you do not want. To pull out a small set of pages into their own file, the Split PDF tool is a better fit.
