Frequently asked questions

Does it handle overnight shifts?

Yes. If the end time is the same as or earlier than the start time, the calculator treats the shift as crossing midnight and adds 24 hours.

How is the break handled?

The break in minutes is subtracted from the worked time, so the result reflects paid hours only.

What is decimal hours?

Decimal hours expresses minutes as a fraction of an hour, so 7 hours 30 minutes becomes 7.5. Most payroll systems expect this format.

What time formats are accepted?

Use 24-hour time like 09:00 or 17:30. Single-digit hours such as 9:00 also work.
