Frequently asked questions

What is a work experience letter?

It is a formal document an employer gives to a departing employee confirming the role they held and the dates they worked. Employees use it as proof of experience for future jobs, visa applications and background checks.

How is an experience letter different from a relieving letter?

An experience letter focuses on the employee's role, tenure and conduct as proof of work history. A relieving letter formally confirms the employee has been released from duties on a specific last working day. Many companies issue both together.

What details should an experience certificate include?

At a minimum: the company name, the employee's full name, their job title, the start and end dates, a short line on conduct or performance, and the name and title of the person signing it. This tool prompts you for each of those.

Does the conduct wording really change?

Yes. Choosing excellent, good or satisfactory produces a clearly different sentence, so an outstanding employee gets stronger wording than someone who simply met expectations. Pick the rating that honestly reflects their tenure.

Is my data sent anywhere or stored?

No. The letter is generated entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type, including names and company details, is uploaded to a server or saved anywhere.

Can I edit the letter after generating it?

Yes. Copy the text into your email or word processor, or download the .txt file, and adjust the wording, add your address block, or paste it onto company letterhead before signing.
