Frequently asked questions

Which phone formats are detected?

Common shapes such as +country codes, (123) 456-7890, 123-456-7890, 123.456.7890, plain 10-digit numbers and international numbers written with spaces.

How does it avoid matching years or ID numbers?

A candidate must contain between seven and fifteen digits, so a four-digit year is ignored and a very long identifier is skipped.

Can it remove duplicate numbers?

Yes. Remove duplicates is on by default and compares numbers by their digits, so two ways of writing the same number count once.

Does it change how a number is written?

No. The original formatting you pasted is preserved. Digits are only used internally to compare and sort.

Is my text private?

Yes. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
