Frequently asked questions

Which words are skipped by default?

Common short joining words: a, an, the, of, and, for, to, in and on. Turn keep small words on to include every word instead.

How are punctuation and extra spaces treated?

They are ignored. Only letters and digits are read, so commas, hyphens and double spaces do not affect the acronym.

Can I add dots between the letters?

Yes. Set a separator such as a dot to turn WHO into W.H.O. The separator goes between letters, not after the last one.

Does it always use uppercase?

Yes. Each chosen letter is uppercased, so the result reads as a standard acronym regardless of the input casing.

Is my text private?

Yes. The acronym is built in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
