Add a Text Watermark to an Image

Stamp a text watermark onto any image right in your browser. Type your text, then dial in the font size, color, and opacity, drop it into one of nine positions, or tile it diagonally across the whole image to make removal harder. You can rotate the text for a classic angled watermark and export as PNG, JPEG, or WebP. The image is processed entirely on your device and is never uploaded.

How to add a watermark to an image

  1. Drop an image in, or click to browse for one.
  2. Type your watermark text and adjust the size, color, opacity, and position.
  3. Turn on tiling for an all-over watermark, pick a format, and download.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The watermark is drawn entirely in your browser using the Canvas API, so your image never leaves your device. That makes it safe for private or unreleased work.

Can I repeat the watermark across the whole image?

Yes. Turn on Tile and the text repeats in a grid covering the full image. Combine it with a rotation like -30 degrees for the diagonal, hard-to-crop look used to protect previews.

Why is my watermark transparent in the saved file?

PNG and WebP keep the partial opacity you set. If you export JPEG, which has no transparency, the watermark is flattened onto a white background so it still shows.

Can I change the font or use my logo?

This tool draws text in a clean bold sans-serif and does not embed custom fonts or image logos. For a logo overlay, export a transparent PNG of it elsewhere first; this tool focuses on fast, private text watermarks.

Which format should I download?

PNG keeps transparency and stays sharp for graphics. WebP is usually the smallest. JPEG is fine for photos but flattens transparency, so the watermark sits on a white fill behind the image.
