Add a Border to an Image

Add a clean border or frame around any image. Choose the color and the width (in pixels or as a percentage of the image), see it update live, and download. A white or black border is great for social posts and product shots. Everything runs in your browser, so the image never leaves your device.

How to add a border to an image

  1. Drop an image in, or click to browse.
  2. Pick a border color and width.
  3. Download the framed image as PNG, JPEG, or WebP.

Examples

White frame for a product photo

A 1000x1000 photo, 40px white border
A 1080x1080 image with an even white frame

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The border is drawn entirely in your browser with the Canvas API, so the image never leaves your device.

Does the image get bigger?

Yes. The border is added outside the image, so the output is wider and taller by twice the border width. The original pixels are untouched.

Can I set the border as a percentage?

Yes. Switch to percent and the width is calculated from the shorter side of the image, so it scales sensibly with any image size.

Can the border be transparent?

Use any solid color you like. For a transparent margin instead of a colored frame, export as PNG and pick a transparent background in a tool that supports it.
