Add a Vignette to a Photo

Add a vignette to draw the eye toward the center of a photo. Drag the strength and size sliders to set how dark and how far in the effect reaches, and pick black for a classic look or white for a soft, high-key fade. The preview updates instantly, and the download is rendered at full resolution. Everything runs in your browser, so the photo never leaves your device.

  2. Drag the Strength slider for how dark, and Size for how far in the vignette reaches.

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The vignette is computed in your browser on the raw pixels. The image never leaves your device, so private photos stay private.

What is the difference between strength and size?

Strength sets how dark (or light) the corners get. Size sets how far inward the effect reaches: a larger size starts the fade closer to the center, covering more of the frame.

Can I make a white vignette instead of a dark one?

Yes. Set the color to white for a soft, high-key fade toward the edges. Any color works, but black and white are the most common.

Does the preview match the download?

Yes. The preview uses the exact same math as the export, just on a smaller copy for speed. The downloaded file is processed at full resolution.

Why is the vignette oval and not a perfect circle?

The falloff is measured relative to each side, so on a wide or tall photo the clear zone follows the frame's shape. This keeps the corners evenly darkened on any aspect ratio.
