Sharpen a Blurry Image

Bring back crisp edges in a soft or slightly blurry photo. Drag the amount slider and watch a live preview update instantly, then download the sharpened image at full resolution as PNG, JPEG, or WebP. Sharpening runs on the raw pixels in your browser, so the photo never leaves your device.

How to sharpen an image

  1. Drop an image in, or click to browse.
  2. Drag the Amount slider until the edges look crisp without looking harsh.
  3. Pick an output format and download the sharpened result.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. Sharpening runs in your browser on the raw pixels, so the image never leaves your device. Private and product photos stay private.

How does sharpening work?

It uses a 3x3 convolution that boosts each pixel against its neighbors, increasing local contrast at edges. Flat areas stay flat, so the look is crisp rather than noisy.

Can it fully fix a very blurry photo?

Sharpening enhances detail that is already present by amplifying edges. It cannot invent detail that motion blur or heavy out-of-focus blur erased, so very blurry shots improve only so much.

Does the preview match the download?

Yes. The preview uses the exact same pixel math as the export, just on a smaller copy for speed. The downloaded file is sharpened at full resolution.

Will it change the file type?

Only if you choose to. You can export as PNG (lossless), JPEG, or WebP regardless of the input format.
