Hydroponic Nutrient Calculator

Find how much nutrient concentrate to mix into a reservoir. Enter the tank size, your product dose per gallon, and the number of parts to get total mL and mL per part.

How to dose a reservoir

  1. Enter your reservoir size and pick gallons or liters.
  2. Enter the manufacturer dose in mL per gallon.
  3. Set the number of parts, such as 2 for an A and B set.
  4. Read the total concentrate and the amount to add per part.

Examples

50 gallon tank, 5 mL per gallon, A+B

50 gallons, 5 mL/gal, 2 parts
250 mL per part, 500 mL total

Frequently asked questions

How is the nutrient amount calculated?

Each part is dosed at the manufacturer rate per gallon, so mL per part equals reservoir gallons times the dose per gallon. The total is that figure multiplied by the number of parts.

What does number of parts mean?

Many lines use multiple bottles, such as a 2 part A and B set, with each bottle added at the same per gallon rate. Set parts to 2 for A and B, or 3 for a three part line. Use 1 for a single bottle.

Can I enter my reservoir in liters?

Yes. Choose liters and the tool converts to gallons using 3.785412 liters per US gallon before applying the per gallon dose.

Should I add nutrients to a full or topped up tank?

Dose to the volume of water you are actually mixing. If you top up between feeds, follow your brand guidance, since adding a full dose to only fresh water can over concentrate the tank.

Is this an exact feeding recommendation?

No. These are general guidelines based on your inputs. Always follow the label for your specific product and adjust using EC or PPM readings and how your plants respond.
