Frequently asked questions

How many grams is one cup of flour?

About 125 g for all-purpose flour. A US cup is 236.588 ml and flour weighs roughly 0.53 g per ml, so 1 cup is close to 125.4 g.

Why do I need to pick an ingredient?

Volume and weight only line up if we know the density. A cup of honey weighs far more than a cup of flour, so the ingredient sets the conversion.

Are these US or metric cups?

Cups, tablespoons and teaspoons here use US customary sizes (1 cup = 236.588 ml, 1 tbsp = 3 tsp). Millilitres and litres are metric.

How accurate are the weight conversions?

They use standard published densities for each ingredient. Results are great for everyday cooking, though packing, humidity and brand can shift them slightly.

Is my data private?

Yes. Every conversion runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
