Frequently asked questions

How are YouTube earnings calculated here?

The primary formula is views divided by 1,000, multiplied by RPM. So 100,000 views at a $3 RPM gives an estimated $300 in ad revenue.

What is the difference between RPM and CPM?

CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 monetized impressions. RPM is what the creator actually keeps per 1,000 views after unmonetized views and YouTube's revenue share.

How does the calculator handle CPM input?

When you give a CPM but no RPM, it approximates RPM as CPM multiplied by 0.55, a heuristic for the creator's share of monetized views. Enter your real RPM for a more accurate result.

Why is there a low to high range?

Real earnings vary with niche, season, audience location and ad demand. The tool shows a band of plus or minus 30% around the estimate so you can plan with a sensible spread.

Is this an official YouTube figure?

No. It is an independent estimate for planning only. Your actual AdSense revenue depends on many factors and may differ. The calculation runs privately in your browser.
