Frequently asked questions

What dice notation does this support?

Standard RPG notation: NdS for N dice of S sides, an optional leading count (d20 means 1d20), and an optional modifier like +3 or -1. Examples include 2d6+3, d100 and 4d8-1.

Are the rolls truly random?

Rolls use your browser's built-in random number generator, which is well suited for games and casual use. It is not intended for cryptography or regulated gambling.

Can I roll many dice at once?

Yes. Set any count, such as 8d6 or 10d10, and the tool rolls each die separately, shows every result, and sums them with your modifier.

What do d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 and d100 mean?

The number after the d is how many sides the die has. A d20 has 20 faces and is the core die in many role playing games, while d100 (percentile) returns 1 to 100.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. Every roll happens locally in your browser, so the tool is private and works even when you are offline.
