Turn a parts based punch or batch cocktail into exact ounces. Enter each ingredient's parts, how many servings you want and the serving size, and get the amount to pour for each.

How to use the punch batch calculator

  1. List each ingredient with its number of parts from the recipe.
  2. Enter how many servings you want and the size of one serving.
  3. Read the ounces of each ingredient, which add up to the batch volume.

Frequently asked questions

What does parts mean in a punch recipe?

Parts are relative amounts, not fixed units. A 2:1:1 recipe means twice as much of the first ingredient as each of the others. Parts let one recipe scale to any batch size while keeping the same balance.

How do I scale a cocktail to a big batch?

Set the total servings and serving size, then list each ingredient's parts. The calculator finds the batch volume and splits it by parts, so the ingredient ounces always add up to the full batch.

How big is one serving of punch?

Punch servings are often 4 to 6 oz, smaller than a full cocktail because guests refill from a bowl. Use 4 oz for a punch cup or up to 8 oz for a tall glass with ice.

Should I add dilution water to the batch?

If the recipe is stirred or shaken when made single, add a dilution part such as water for the chill. For a punch served over a large ice block, the melt happens in the bowl, so many recipes skip extra water.

Can I use grams or milliliters instead of ounces?

The math is the same in any single unit. Treat the serving size as your unit of choice and the ingredient amounts will come out in that same unit, since it only splits the total by parts.
