Frequently asked questions

How is the number of weeks calculated?

The tool counts the whole days between the two dates and divides by seven. The decimal weeks figure is rounded to two places, and whole weeks plus leftover days are also shown.

Does the order of the dates matter?

No. The earlier date is always treated as the start, so swapping the two dates gives the same totals. Every result is reported as a positive number.

Why is the decimal sometimes not a round number?

Weeks are seven days, so any span that is not a multiple of seven leaves a remainder. For example, 50 days is 7.14 weeks, which is seven whole weeks and one leftover day.

Are leap days counted?

Yes. The tool uses real calendar dates, so February 29 in a leap year is included in the day count whenever the span crosses it.

Do time zones change the answer?

No. All math runs in UTC and treats each date as a plain calendar date, so daylight saving time and time zones never shift the result.
