Weight on Other Planets Calculator
Enter your weight on Earth to see what you would weigh on every planet, the Moon and the Sun. Each result scales your weight by that body's surface gravity relative to Earth.
How to find your weight on other planets
- Enter your weight on Earth in pounds or kilograms.
- The tool multiplies it by each body's surface gravity relative to Earth.
- Read your weight on every planet, the Moon and the Sun.
Examples
On the Moon
100 lb on Earth
16.6 lb on the Moon
On Mars
100 lb on Earth
37.7 lb on Mars
Frequently asked questions
Why does my weight change on other planets?
Weight is the pull of gravity on your mass. Your mass stays the same, but each body has a different surface gravity, so the force on you, your weight, changes.
Does it matter if I enter pounds or kilograms?
No. The result is a ratio, so it comes back in whatever unit you enter. Put in pounds and you get pounds; put in kilograms and you get kilograms.
What would I weigh on the Moon?
About 16.6 percent of your Earth weight. The Moon surface gravity is roughly one sixth of Earth's, so a 100 pound person weighs about 16.6 pounds.
Why is my weight on Jupiter so high?
Jupiter is the most massive planet, with a surface gravity about 2.36 times Earth's. Your weight there would be more than double your Earth weight.
Are these surface gravities exact?
They are the commonly cited average surface gravities relative to Earth. Gas giants have no solid surface, so the values are taken at the visible cloud tops.
