Frequently asked questions

What counts as a business day?

Any weekday from Monday to Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are treated as non-working days and are skipped automatically.

Does the count include the start and end dates?

Yes. Counting is inclusive of both ends, so a Monday to Friday range counts as 5 business days, not 4.

How do I exclude public holidays?

Add each holiday on its own line in the holidays box using the format YYYY-MM-DD. Any listed date that falls on a weekday is removed from the count or skipped when adding days.

How are weekends handled when adding business days?

When you add business days, the tool steps forward one day at a time and only counts weekdays that are not holidays, so weekends never land in the result.

Can I count backwards or subtract days?

Yes. Counting between dates works in either order, and you can enter a negative number of business days to step backwards from the start date.

Does this assume a particular country or work week?

It uses a standard Monday to Friday work week and no holidays unless you add them. There is no built-in country calendar, so supply your own holiday dates for accuracy.
