Frequently asked questions

How is age counted?

Age is counted in full calendar years, then the leftover full months, then the leftover days. You only gain a year on your birthday, not before it.

How do leap-year birthdays work?

If you were born on 29 February, you complete a full year on 28 February in common years and on 29 February in leap years. Until that day passes you are still the previous age.

Why is the exact age different from the total months or days?

The years, months and days figure is your exact calendar age. The totals re-express that same span purely in days, weeks or months, so they look larger but describe the same age.

How are total days and weeks calculated?

Total days is the whole number of days between your birth date and today. Total weeks is that day count divided by seven and rounded down, so any extra days are not counted as a full week.

Which date does it measure up to?

By default it measures from your date of birth to today's date in your device's calendar. The math runs entirely in your browser.

Is my date of birth stored anywhere?

No. Everything is calculated locally in your browser and nothing is uploaded or saved.
